چکیده

ABSTRACT We report the flux and spectral variability of PG 1553 + 113 on intra-night (IDV) to short-term time-scales using BVRI data collected over 91 nights from 28 February 8 November 2019 employing 10 optical telescopes: three in Bulgaria, two each India Serbia, one Greece, Georgia, Latvia. monitored blazar quasi-simultaneously for 16 V R bands V, R, I examined light curves (LCs) intra-day colour variations powerful tests: power-enhanced F-test nested ANOVA test. The source was found be significantly (>99 per cent) variable 4 out 27 R-band, 1 V-band, 6 I-band. No temporal colours were observed IDV time-scale. During course these observations total variation R-band 0.89 mag observed. also investigated energy distribution (SED) B-, V-, R-, I-band data. indices range 0.878 ± 0.029 1.106 0.065 by fitting a power law (Fν∝ν−α) SEDs 113. that follows bluer-when-brighter trend time-scales. discuss possible physical causes variability.

Simultaneous multi - frequency observations of PG 1553 + 113

We report simultaneous multi-frequency observations of the blazar PG 1553+113, that were carried out in March-April 2008. Optical, X-ray, high-energy (HE: ≥ 100 MeV) γ-ray, and very-highenergy (VHE: ≥ 100 GeV) γ-ray data were obtained with the KVA, REM, RossiXTE/ASM, AGILE and MAGIC telescopes. This is the first simultaneous broad-band (i.e., HE+VHE) γ-ray observation of a blazar. The source sp...

Probing the very high energy γ -ray spectral curvature in the blazar PG 1553+113 with the MAGIC telescopes

PG 1553+113 is a very high energy (VHE, E> 100GeV) γ -ray emitter classified as a BL Lac object. Its redshift is constrained by intergalactic absorption lines in the range 0.4< z < 0.58. The MAGIC telescopes have monitored the source’s activity since 2005. In early 2012, PG 1553+113 was found in a high state, and later, in April of the same year, the source reached its highest VHE flux state de...

Pg 1553+113: Five Years of Observations with Magic

We present the results of five years (2005–2009) of MAGIC observations of the BL Lac object PG 1553+113 at very high energies (VHEs, E > 100GeV). Power law fits of the individual years are compatible with a steady mean photon index Γ = 4.27 ± 0.14. In the last three years of data, the

Break in the Vhe Spectrum of Pg 1553+113: New Upper Limit on Its Redshift?

PG1553+113 is a known BL Lac object, newly detected in the GeV-TeV energy range by H.E.S.S and MAGIC. The redshift of this source is unknown and a lower limit of z > 0.09 was recently estimated. The very high energy (VHE) spectrum of PG1553+113 is attenuated due to the absorption by the low energy photon field of the extragalactic background light (EBL). Here we correct the combined H.E.S.S and...
